Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Just Pick One is operated by Lee Kellogg (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use Just Pick One, how we use it, and your choices. If you have questions, email us at support@justpick.one.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. You can sign in with Google or with an email address and password. Signing in with Google gives us your name, email address, and profile photo. Signing up with an email address gives us that address. Either way, we store it in your Just Pick One profile to identify you to other pool members. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.

Game data. We store your pool memberships, weekly picks, results, and standings history. This is the core data required to operate the service.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, expiration date, or CVV. We receive a Stripe customer ID and confirmation of successful payment, which we use to record that a pool slot has been purchased. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy for how Stripe handles your payment data.

Invitation emails. If a pool commissioner invites someone to a pool by entering their email address, we store that address to deliver the invitation and track whether it was accepted. If you received an invitation and do not wish to join, you can ask us to delete your address by emailing support@justpick.one.

Push notification tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store a device token (provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging) that lets us deliver reminders and result alerts to your browser or installed app. You can revoke this at any time from the Account page or your browser’s notification settings.

Usage data. Firebase automatically collects basic technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited to operate and secure the service.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see which pages are visited and how often. It records the page you are on, along with the general information any website receives — approximate location from your IP address, browser, and device type — and stores a randomly generated identifier so repeat visits can be recognised. We use it to understand which parts of the site get used. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell this data, and it is not combined with your picks or pool activity.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and operate your account and pool memberships
  • To record and display picks, results, and standings to pool members
  • To send push notifications you have opted into (deadline reminders, weekly results)
  • To process payments for paid pool creation
  • To respond to support requests
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

Other pool members. Your display name and profile photo are visible to other members of any pool you join. Your weekly picks are visible to all pool members after the weekly deadline passes. Before the deadline, only whether you have picked — not what you picked — is visible. Your email address isnot shown to other players.

Pool commissioners. The person who created a pool can see the email address of everyone in it, so that they can contact players about the pool. They can email the pool from within Just Pick One, copy the addresses out, and download a copy of their pool’s data including those addresses. Once a commissioner has your address, how they use it is up to them and outside our control — treat joining a pool as sharing your email with the person running it. You are told this before you join, and you can leave a pool at any time by asking its commissioner to remove you.

Service providers. We use the following third-party services to operate Just Pick One:

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and game data for the duration of your account. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized game statistics (pick counts, win rates) may be retained in aggregate form.

5. Your Choices and Rights

  • Push notifications — enable or disable at any time from the Account page, or through your browser’s notification settings.
  • Account deletion — email us at support@justpick.one to request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Access and correction — contact us to request a copy of your data or to correct inaccuracies.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise those rights.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Just Pick One uses browser local storage and session storage to maintain your login session via Firebase Authentication.

Google Analytics for Firebase also stores an identifier in your browser so that repeat visits can be recognised as the same visitor. We do not use advertising cookies, and nothing here is used to track you across other websites. Blocking cookies for this site, or using a browser that blocks analytics, stops the measurement without affecting how the app works.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, and we use its access-control mechanisms (authentication and security rules) to restrict who can read and write it. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security or that data will never be lost, corrupted, or accessed without authorization. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Children’s Privacy

Just Pick One is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Just Pick One after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
